To open our Quest to Rebirth, we start fittingly in Libra, a sign ruled by Venus and represented by the scales, a symbol of Justice. Our Foundational Principle is As Above So Below. How do we abide by Cosmic Law and make it manifest here on Earth?

This month we will explore new ways of living and walking on this Earth. We will learn from Navajo/Diné artist, educator and activist Lyla-June Johnson about ways in which we can be in Solidarity with Indigenous People and our various roles within this process, in a joyful and effective way.

Next we will explore the topic of The Rights Of Nature. We live in a world where corporations have been given more rights than rivers and forests. We will be learning about earth-based justice from lawyer Michelle Lobo, to gain a clearer picture of what our world could look like if we were to enshrine natures rights into legislation, and discuss potential pathways to making that a reality.

Foundation: Death & Rebirth

Element: Water

Now we explore the themes of Death and Rebirth as we make our way down into the shadowy waters of Scorpio. Here we will learn Rituals to transform the collective traumas into alchemical gold, or in this case fertilizer for New Life and New Ways of Being and Relating that are grounded in Integrity.

Next we learn the invaluable tools of communication, specifically around the triggers and biases that exist within us and our communities. For us to not perpetuate cycles of violence and trauma we must acknowledge subconscious and conscious biases that we carry, recognize whom and how we might label, and create a new vocabulary rooted in honesty and care, to repair what has been broken and rewire new Communication Pathways in our brain.

Pillar: Transformation

Element: Fire

We will focus on Culture Crafting knowing that spiritual and cultural transformation is the way in which we can heal ourselves, each other and this planet we call home.

We will engage our inner idealist to look at culture as a powerful force on the planet - with the capacity to end wars, inspire change and determine our future as a species. Culture creates Consciousness. Most of us are unaware that we are constantly engaging in acts of co-creation with the culture around us, that we are not mere passive bystanders but active participants - with the power to incite cultural revolutions that spring from evolved collective consciousness.

Here, we look to the Seeds and (Fungi) Spores as models of Resilience, embodiments of the Law of Cause and Effect. The Earth sign of Capricorn is the perfect environment to explore the world underneath our feet and learn about the many Causes of soil degradation, GMO seed monopolies and the many devastating Effects of modern agriculture and harmful Bio-Technologies.

But.. all is not lost. Capricorn is about Resilience and this months Pillar is Unity. We will hear from the activist Seed Keepers and Citizen Mycologists on the ground who understand that the solutions to so many of our worlds problems lie in the Soil beneath our feet. And in our United mission to Save Our Seeds and explore Fungal Technologies - we can use the Law of Cause and Effect to change the course of humanity for the better not worse.

Aquarius is inviting us to deepen in our understanding of the systems that guide and govern life on Earth. We are so thrilled to have permaculture expert Timo Granzotti to guide us through this months exploration of pattern recognition, biomimicry, the social structures of different species, pheremones and hormonal biochemical communication. Nature is the framework behind all ancient and modern technologies, inventions and practices. By observing nature, recognizing repeating patterns we can begin to understand Her inner workings, wisdom and secret teachings - helping us to imagine and create regenerative futures.

Building on our first class, the second class will focus on whole systems thinking. So many of todays societal and ecological problems come from siloing our attention on isolated symptoms (eg crime) but not the larger system that is responsible for it (eg: unequal distribution of resources). Timo will once again expand our awareness of the systems that govern our lives, from the hydrologic cycle and the way water, soil and plants all interact, to the carbon cycle, terra preta and the magic of agroforestry.

We come to the end of our journey with a contemplation of the Foundational Principles of Yin and Yang. This is the beginning of the path of benevolence. We will learn about the ways in which we can embody leadership qualities through the practices we do each day.
