27 December to 6 January 2009 - Vision Quest
Run by Blue Mountains Vision Quest – www.bluemountainsvisionquest.com.au
Where is it?
Blue Mountains Wollemi Wilderness
What is it?
Blue Mountains Vision Quest Programs are inspired by the practices of indigenous cultures in Australia and around the world, however our programs are not imitations of the traditional vision quests, they are quests designed for contemporary Western people with or without religious or spiritual beliefs. The Quests are a journey within oneself, to find the truths that are our own and the powers that can heal, liberate, and assist us in living true. The BM Vision Quest Programs are influenced by indigenous cultures but also incorporate the self-development tools of post-Jungian Transpersonal Psychology and Eco-psychology. The entire Vision Quest experience is an initiation and progression of descent into the chthonic depths of the psyche to find vision, healing and transformation by uncovering and connecting with soul. Through exploring the soul of the landscape we can reveal the landscapes of the soul. By exploring the truth of nature we can uncover the nature of truth.
Accommodation: Lodge and camping. With average fitness short easy to medium grade hiking, beginners most welcome. Guides: Gary, Yeshi
What does it cost?
$1,600

run by Seven Generations - www.sevengenerations.net.au
Where is it?
Mebbin – Mt Warning Northern NSW.
What is it?
There comes a time when you must leave family, friends and work behind and go off alone, looking within to discover your changes in the circle of life. The Vision Quest is the name of this journey. This is a path that has been followed by human beings for thousands of years. You hear it calling to you. These questions are pushing you, “Who am I?”, “What do I have to give?” and “How can I heal my wounds?” Despite your fears, you know this is something you have to do. So you meet with others like yourself, guided by caring staff, to prepare yourself for the journey. You learn about the wilderness, putting together the necessary equipment, about physical safety and survival, and about the inner terrain, going over the story that has brought you to this threshold. You study ancient symbols and teachings that will help illuminate your way. All the while, the small group is becoming a community, offering support and love.

24-28 April 2009 - Shamans Doorway
run by Centre for Human Transformation www.humantransformation.com.au

Where is it?
Yarra Glen, Victoria
What is it?
Shamans Doorway is a 5-day process of initiation and activation into the Shamanic world. It is for men with fire in their bellies and passion in their hearts, who know there is more to life than they are currently experiencing and that this culture would have us believe is possible. For 5 days we meet together in nature and encounter those aspects of the world and our own nature that are part of the deep mystery
This is not an initiation for the faint-hearted, the lost or the casual onlooker. It is for men who wish to push the boundaries of their experience and enter the world of the Medicine Man, the healer, the prophet, the visionary, seer, and one who moves between the worlds. It is for men who wish to be deeply touched by spirit and to carry those blessings into the world.
