hi, nice site.

yes, an economic model does exist. it's called ecological economics. have you read herman daly's "steady-state economics"?

also permaculture addresses economics through relocalisation of resources and re-ruralisation, or dispersal of population away from cities. the uk based transition movement of course being primarily influenced by australian originated permaculture - holmgren and mollison et al.

in fact all our models for future ecological re-embodiment already exist - ecological economics, permaculture and traditional cultures - the problem is that big business doesn't want us to be 'lovers of wild nature', it's more profitable for them to keep as 'agents of waste'. governments flounder addicted to the growth model, debilitated by bureaucrats and brown energy lobbyists.

therefore, it is up to us to 'get off the grid' so to speak. energy, food and water sovereignty is all we need. here at home we are two years into a self-determined seven year transition. we have probably visited a supermarket half a dozen times in this period.

i guess my point is models exist, but corporate/government will does not - they're still waiting for a tech explosion (resources from other planets or some other hopeful thinking) -

great to find your site,
